About Steiglitz
Steiglitz is a locality in the city of Gold Coast in Queensland. This coastal town is quite rural and has a small population of just around 440 people. Steiglitz has Moreton Bay marking its eastern edge while Jacobs Well runs towards the south. Woongoolba marks both the western and northern boundaries.
The area got its name from the home town in Germany of the pioneer settler family, the Kleingschmidts. The village in Steiglitz is often known by its alternate name of Cabbage Tree Point. This was the name given to the area where it is located because of the cabbage tree palms that grow in the area.
